William Westwood (Bill)
Personal Details
William Westwood was born in 1950 in Liverpool,
is married with two children,
and has lived in North Wales since 1972.
Education
Bill obtained several GCE 'O' and 'A' Levels at the end of the 1960's and an
HNC in Building Construction,
together with City & Guilds Certificates in Building Construction and
Surveying, during the 1970's.
Previous Employment
From 1971 to 1997 Bill was employed by the Colin Stananought Partnership and Linenhall Group of Companies,
as an Architectural Technician.
He worked on a considerable number of large renovation schemes in Liverpool,
particularly in Princes Park and Toxteth,
and obtained considerable experience in the planning,
surveying, detailing and supervision of renovation schemes.
Since the formation of the Linenhall Group of Companies
in the early 1980's Bill was involved on all development schemes
in the Liverpool and Chester area,
being responsible for the survey work and preparation of drawings,
liasing with Local Authorities and Fire Authorities.
Examples of schemes Bill was jointly or solely responsible for
during his employment with Linenhall are set out as follows:-
Linenhall House, Watergate St., Chester
Retention of existing street elevation,
construction of new corner building to Stanley Place,
redevelopment for office use.
Former YMCA, Bishops Palace, Chester
Extension and complete renovation of Listed Building for office use.
Former Sotheby's, Booth Mansions, Chester
Alterations within Listed Building to form new internal circulation,
involving removal and reconstruction of Listed wall panelling.
Renewal of floor structures whilst retaining Listed ceilings beneath.
Brookdale Farm, Waverton, Chester
Conversion of former farm outbuildings to form eight large dwellings,
renovation of farmhouse.
Godstall Lane, Chester
Conversion of former shop into six small retail units with offices above.
Eaton Estate Office, Eccleston, Chester
Construction of extension to form new reception and office suite
for the Duke of Westminster.
Complete survey of all former Eaton stud buildings adjacent to Estate Office.
Formation of new Estate archive.
Rake Farm, Eccleston, Chester
Renovation of former farm buildings for conversion to offices.

In 1997 Bill joined the practice of James Brotherhood and Associates
in the capacity of Senior Architectural Technician,
and has been working along side Jim to produce high quality design solutions
and details for our clients.
Bill undertakes our measured surveys to produce information about client's exisiting buildings. He has a thorough working knowledge of current building and associated regulations
and is well used to providing solutions to a wide range of structural problems,
as well as meeting deadlines and working as demanded by such deadlines.
Like Jim, Bill is also well versed in the use of CAD and their experience provides considerable benefit
in connection with construction matters and the co-ordination
necessary to achieve satisfactory solutions on behalf of Clients.
